David Crookall

David Crookall is an internationally known expert in experiential learning (mainly participatory simulation and debriefing) for applied linguistics, intercultural communication, sustainability, environmental issues, resource depletion and climate education.  He has edited several books and authored many articles.  He was for many years editor in chief of a major academic journal, and has guest edited several special issues, including a special issue of this journal: Learning Sustainability. His publications are listed in Research Gate, Google Scholar and ORCID.

He was active for many years in the International Simulation and Gaming Association (ISAGA), of which he has been awarded life membership.  He is active in the European Geosciences Union.  His university appointments have taken him to France, Singapore, Thailand and the United States.  He is currently a member of the Scientific Committee of the Université Internationale de la Mer, France.  Outside academia, David enjoys classical music, scuba diving and mountain walking.  He is vegetarian and practices sustainability in his personal life.
